This work didn't come from a business plan. It came from a hard year, a hard-won clarity, and a belief that every person — child or adult — carries a seed waiting for the right conditions to grow.
My Story
Nearly twenty years in children's programming — and a year that changed everything.
I spent close to two decades building and running programs for kids, working alongside the founders, managers, and leaders who pour themselves into that work. Then came a year I didn't plan for — one that stripped things back to what actually mattered.
Out of that came Wild Poppy: not a pivot, but a return to why I started in the first place. Today, that shows up in two places — a program for girls learning to trust their own voice, and a practice for the leaders who are still building theirs.
Where the Name Comes From
Named for the world's most resilient woman.
Wild Poppy is named for my mother — a woman who taught me, without ever making a lesson of it, how to find hope in front of an obstacle instead of behind one. Poppies are famous for exactly that: they're often the first thing to bloom in disturbed, difficult ground.
That's the whole philosophy in one image. Growth doesn't wait for perfect conditions. Sometimes it just needs someone willing to disturb the soil.

My role isn't to hand anyone a finished plant. It's to build the conditions — the light, the space, the attention — that let what's already there take root and grow on its own terms.
